Growth Projection

Method and scope

EPF/KWSP accumulation for Malaysian citizens under 60, using regular wages without bonuses. Uses Third Schedule Part A effective October 2025: no contribution for wages up to RM10, RM20 wage bands through RM5,000 with employee 11% and employer 13% rounded up to ringgit, then RM100 bands through RM20,000 with employee 11% and employer 12%. Wages above RM20,000 are deliberately outside the input range; bonus exceptions, foreigners and PR categories are excluded. The projection ends by age 60. Salary and contribution rules remain constant. Returns are an assumed monthly-compounding illustration, not the official annual EPF dividend calculation or a guaranteed dividend. Account allocation, withdrawals, tax relief and post-60 contributions are excluded.

Try the starting example

Current balance: RM 10,000; Regular monthly EPF wages (no bonus): RM 5,000; Age at start: 35; Assumed annual dividend return (not guaranteed): 5%; Years: 20.

Projected balance: RM 520,366.81.

Compare one assumption at a time

Only the assumed investment return changes; contribution inputs stay fixed. Check any eligibility or contribution-limit warning before using a result. A projected balance does not establish withdrawal income or tax relief. Where no editable return is supported, use the profile-specific interpretation below. These fictional scenarios use the starting inputs printed above, not your current entries in the interactive calculator.

Are you using chargeable income and regular EPF wages correctly?

The income-tax tool uses chargeable income after reliefs for its supported assessment year. EPF instead uses regular monthly wages within its supported age and wage range. Official contribution bands can produce a step change at a wage boundary, so multiplying salary by a percentage can disagree with the displayed contribution.

To reproduce the table, reset the calculator, change only the named input and compare the result and any warning. Record the assumptions with your result. See worked planning examples and our calculation and correction process.
