Growth Projection
Method and scope
Combined CPF balance illustration for a Singapore citizen or PR from the third year onwards, using full January 2026 contribution rates. Models Ordinary Wages only, capped at $8,000 per month, with no bonuses/Additional Wages, voluntary top-ups or other employment. For ages 55 and below, total contributions are 37% and employee contributions 20% above $750 wages; statutory low-wage bands are included. Total contributions round to the nearest dollar and the employee share rounds down; employer share is the difference. Salary and rates are held constant, and the projection must end by age 55. The assumed blended return is a user illustration, not an official CPF interest rate. Account allocation, OA housing withdrawals, MediSave spending, retirement-account transfers, CPF LIFE, eligibility for withdrawals and future rule changes are excluded; the combined balance is not freely withdrawable cash.
Try the starting example
Current balance: $10,000; Monthly Ordinary Wages (no bonuses): $5,000; Age at start: 30; Assumed blended annual return (not account rates): 3%; Years: 20.
Projected balance: $625,566.25.
Compare one assumption at a time
Only the assumed investment return changes; contribution inputs stay fixed. Check any eligibility or contribution-limit warning before using a result. A projected balance does not establish withdrawal income or tax relief. Where no editable return is supported, use the profile-specific interpretation below. These fictional scenarios use the starting inputs printed above, not your current entries in the interactive calculator.
| Assumed blended annual return (not account rates) | Projected balance | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| 1% | $503,501.31 | One changed input |
| 3% | $625,566.25 | Starting example |
| 5% | $787,538.69 | One changed input |
Are regular wages the only pay you are modelling?
The CPF tool covers the stated Ordinary Wage profile and ends accumulation by age 55. Bonuses, Additional Wages and account transfers need separate treatment. Its assumed blended return is not a forecast for each CPF account, and the resulting balance is not a CPF LIFE monthly payout.
To reproduce the table, reset the calculator, change only the named input and compare the result and any warning. Record the assumptions with your result. See worked planning examples and our calculation and correction process.
