Rates and rules change

Interest rates (FD, RD, PPF, NSC, SCSS, etc.), tax slabs, PF rules and other inputs used as defaults on this site change periodically — sometimes with each government budget or RBI policy update. We aim to keep defaults current, but always confirm the latest applicable rate or rule with the relevant bank, the Income Tax Department, or an official government source before acting.

Simplified assumptions

Several calculators (Salary, HRA, EPF, APY, Brokerage, and others) use simplified, commonly-used assumptions to make an estimate possible from a handful of inputs. Real-world figures depend on your employer's specific policy, your broker's fee structure, or scheme-specific rules that a simplified calculator cannot fully capture.
