How this estimate works
NPS builds a corpus the same way a SIP does — monthly contributions compounding until retirement at 60. At exit, current rules require at least 40% of the corpus to go into an annuity that pays a monthly pension, while the rest can typically be withdrawn as a lump sum.
Corpus = P × [ ((1+i)ⁿ − 1) / i ] × (1+i)
P = monthly contribution, i = expected monthly return, n = months to age 60 Monthly pension ≈ (Corpus × Annuity%) × Annuity rate ÷ 12
P = monthly contribution, i = expected monthly return, n = months to age 60 Monthly pension ≈ (Corpus × Annuity%) × Annuity rate ÷ 12
